NOTE: If your boiler is not working you need to book for a repair NOT a service. Boilers must be working in order to be serviced and a repair will require a longer time slot.

• Boilers should be serviced annually and it may be a requirement of the boiler warranty.

What is a Boiler Service?

A boiler service, or central heating system performance test, makes sure the boiler is working safely and efficiently.

You generally have a car serviced at least once a year and more often than that if you do a lot of miles. Your boiler will be providing heating for many months and hot water all year round. Manufacturers usually recommend that it is serviced once a year, details are in the owners manual.

Boiler servicing is not a DIY job. It must be done by someone who is competent and has the correct equipment, i.e. a Gas Safe registered engineer. Tara Heating charge a very competitive price to service boilers that we have installed. In 2013 most of our customers paid £55 for a system performance test but prices vary according to installation details.
